Hi All,
It’s been a while since I’ve checked in and it was suggested that I post an update on the Thieme & Schlegelmilch ya’ll kindly helped me with a few months back. In May I took it for its first outing (see picture) and had loads worked up for both H4895 and Unique powders with 8 grains of Unique showing the most promise. Being that 8 grains of powder isn’t much in the case I took some sound advice and used a fiber filler but didn’t think to weigh it out but employeed the “that looks good” method and seated the bullets. On the second target from my range trip last week I took a more scientific approach, thanks George, and weighed out 3 grains of filler which proved to really do the trick. Should have written the date on the target but it’s the one with a five round and ten round group. Both these targets were shot at 50 yards, that’s the furthest distance they offer at the range I use and it’s handy for lunch hour visits. Looks like the additional weighed filler which is about three times as much as I used with my first attempt may have raised POI but it sure is grouping nicely. I think I’ve landed on a real winner. Oops! Forgot to mention I’m casting my own from a custom brass mould I purchased from Accurate and they are weighing in at 182 grains after being sized and lubed. This gun is really turning in to something special.
