Looking for scope base information

    Dennis,
    I had trouble with a side mounted scope on a Mauser( 9.3x57-more recoil than 25-35)and stopped the slipping by putting a small roll pin, cross wise, through the dovetail, bearing on the front of the clamp base. This would be an unobtrusive "fix", if the 25-35 slips.

      This picture shows a standard Ruger 1" ring which has a tab on the bottom that needs to be milled or filed off

      Then the base needs to be milled or filed wider to fit the bases on the guns, they arent standard widths.

      If eye relief is a problem Ruger offers a set back ring that gives you about 1" extra to move a scope back which I needed on this cape gun.

        Another thing to point out. This picture shows a Talley mount on the same cape gun. Notice the rings are not centered on the rib / mount. Again a little milling or filing is required to get it properly centered.
