I would like to share with you my latest purchase semi automatic smooth bored gun Walther.

MARAT,
You seem to have a knack for finding very interesting and unusual guns. The early simi-automatic shotguns and rifles from Europe are a little outside my area of expertise, but I'm sure someone here knows about them. Judging from the proof marks, your understanding seems to be correct.

Interesting stylized R in one of the images in the link. I've seen that on both shotgun receivers/barrels and on stocks before. I didn't know of the Deutsche Werke having been involved in Walther's semi-automatic shotgun. Learnt something new today.

EDIT: they seem to have been shipped both to the facility in Suhl and the one in Zella-Mehlis. Here's another one proofed in Zella Mehlis https://www.forgottenweapons.com/wal...-shotgun-ouch/ in my first link there's one proofed in Suhl

I don’t know if the following in any way hindered the production at K/Carl Walther’s. It’s from August 1922. If the below meant that the Walthers could not manufacture their semi-automatic shotgun in Zella-Mehlis I for sure would like to know what inroads they had to Deutsche Werke, Erfurt.

In the arms factory Karl Walther in Zella Mehlis an Acetylene cylinder, which had been leaking at the valve, was set on fire. The fire was quickly suppressed. After this incident, the workers returned to the factory building. During the fire, however, the gas in the bottle got so hot that the metal bottle exploded. The explosion completely destroyed the massive building. The gunsmith Hengelhaupt was killed, eleven workers were injured. (Google Translate and me worked together on this one)

I shall not elaborate as I’ve in the past have hi-jacked another one of MARAT’s threads, but of interest to me is the gunsmith Hengelhaupt, the stylized R, Deutsche Werke (Erfurt), Zella-Mehlis and also very much the Acetylene cylinder……………
