M. Hasselmann 20 gauge hammer gun

I am hoping someone can share any information they might have on a 20gauge hammer gun I looked at today. The rib inscription is M. Hasselmann in Frankfort a M.
Some nice engraving and gold bird and dog enlays along with some scroll. Horn trigger guard in excellent condition along with the forend lever. Damascus barrels are nicely acid etched.

The gun was likely sold by M. Hasselmann in Frankfurt on the Main River. For much other information, we will need photos of the gun, including all the markings, especislly the proof marks found under the barrels( must be removed to see them).

Thank you Mike I only took a couple,of poorly positioned pictures. The bores are good so i will buy this gun. I have wasted more money on lesser guns if it does not turn out to have any value. I was not allowed to remove the barrels as the horn is about perfect and they did not want to chance messing anything up.

M.Hasselmann, Frankfurt on Main, died in 1920. Nothing more known to me. Without knowing about the proofmarks it is impossible to tell the make of the gun, but from the decoration Iguess it was made for Hasselmann in Liege.

Phil, from what I could make out they are a spectacular set of Damascus barrels and it looks like a Damascus rib too. Nicely inlaid as well. If the bores are clean and measure up than you likely made a good buy but the proof will be in the "proofs" so to speak and once you have it home and can take a few good pictures of them all that will be resolved. I am a huge fan of Damascus hammer guns and would like to see more of it. Best of luck with your find, Diz

Phil, I concur with Sharps, the word stunning doesn't do it justice. With a closer look I can see the star pattern Damascus that looks to be at least three iron and possibly four, maybe more. Wonderful old gun! Hope you get it and thanks for sharing. Diz
