I have a schuetzen rifle with a loose front sight. I want to tighten it by peening the bottom with a center punch. Does it drive out L to R or R to L. It is the base that is loose not the insert.

Mike,
The standard is, they go in right to left, and come out left to right. Before using a center punch, you might lightly bump the top of the dovetail down with a flat punch.
