        There is Merkel in 20-th gauge. The body is based on 16=th gauge or on original body of 20=th gauge?

              Your question can not be answered from looking at photos. You have to have the gun AND another one in 16g in hand and compare the frame sizes. Diz is right, "innen hartverchromt" stands for hard chrome plated bores.

                I have never seen before chrome plated barrels at the gun , made in 1952!

                  Different people were chrome plating barrels, considerably before 1952. The Japanese model 99 rifle, used in WW2, had a chrome plated barrel until the very close to the end of the war.

                    Mike,
                    I didn't explain right my point of view. 303 and 203 models didn't have chrome plated barrels, like others "hi-end" models of Merkel. This one is something extraordianary ( IMHO).
