  • 8x60S Haenel M1900? info please

    Hello all
This is my favorite rifle. it (most accidentally) fits me perfectly and shoots incredibly accurately for a fixed sight rifle, amazing balance and quick handling off-hand. My friend formed cartridges from 30-06 match brass. the rifle likes 185-200 grain bullets best. please let me know any information you might have. many thanks!

    Scribe,
It is likely your rifle was rechambered, post WW1, to 8x60S from 8x57IS. This is why the 8x60S was developed, and it turned out to be a fine cartridge in it's own right. When you post photos, please include photos of the proof marks, which are on the bottom of the barrel, requiring removable of the stock to see them. Unfortunately, being computer illiterate, I can't help you with the photos, but others will.
    Mike
