  • Simson Mod 100E Forend Parts, Need Help!

    Hi There,
New to the forum, first post.
I need help with the Forend of my
    Simson Model 100E O/U 12GA
I have to replace one screw, lost it at the range and the forend catch spring/bar, it broke in half, anybody can guide me to a gun parts store in the internet or by phone?
Also, I don't know where the catch spring or bar goes inside the mechanism.
The shotgun was given to me by my older brother who bought it in Spain when he was station with the Air Force back in the 70's.
Its a great shooter and means a lot to me.
Thanks for taking the time to help me.
Here are some photos I took of the parts.

    Scarface4u,
You didn't say which part of the country you live in, so we might not advise a "local" gunsmith. The parts you need are within the capability of your local ( competent) gunsmith to make and fit, especially since you have the broken spring and a similar screw to serve as a guide. If you don't have a relationship with a local gunsmith, New England Custom Guns, or any gunsmith that advertises in the "Trade Directory" of WAIDMANNSHEIL, such as Dutchman Wood Works, can do the work. The particular arrangements would be between you and whoever you chose, but I believe it would be sufficient to send only the forearm to them, therefore avoiding the complications of shipping firearms.

            Scarface4u,
Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town yesterday and indisposed last night. I don't know one, but I'm pretty sure you can find a good gunsmith in Jacksonville or Mobile, by consulting the yellow pages or someone that works in a sporting goods store in either city, will likely know one. Failing that, Pat Felix in Cusseta Ga. would be able to help you. Cusseta is near Columbus Ga. at the "back gate" of Ft. Benning. The work you need is really not all that complicated and I'm pretty sure a local machine shop or hobby machinist could handle it, also. I'm not familiar with Barlow, maybe someone there knows of a local gunsmith or machinist. In the end, there is no doubt you will have your gun repaired and will be able to enjoy it.
