  • Geschichte der Mauser Werke 1938 Book

I've seen pictures of this book online, but I've never held a copy. This is a long shot but does anyone know is there a difference in content between the soft cover and hard cover editions, specifically in a pictorial context?

    Thanks,
    Tristan

    Hi,
I have a soft cover copy and I have looked at a hard cover and I think they are the same. I didn't have them together to look at the one, then the other, but I really believe they are identical. I remember I was actually very surprised when I found out they were even made in soft cover. But after looking for a hard cover for quite awhile I bought the soft. Mine has lots of pictures and I have translated sections of it, but I wish I would have actually learned German during those two years in high school. We had a teacher from Texas who taught math and German. So we were the only kids around who spoke German with a Texas accent.

I remembered that George Hoyem of Armory Publications told me years ago he thought about translating this book into English and publishing it. In the end his brother talked him out of it. He reasoned all the pro Nazi content would be a little too much for our delicate American sensibilities. I was disappointed but I'm sure he was right. Some people would have had a fit and his business might have suffered.
