Hi to all. I've recently acquired a 16 ga. double identified only as MARQUARDT, inlaid in gold toward the receiver end of the rib.
no other discernible identity. Marquardt was located in Dresden.
Might the barrel flat proofs identify the maker? I can attempt pictures to whoever can decipher German proofs.

Also this gun has gold-colored pins that protrude vertically above the firing pins. They seem to indicate cocked bbls.
New to me. Anyone familiar with this feature?
    Thanks to all, in advance!

    BoBroock,
It would be helpful if you posted photos of all the markings, including the proof marks. Even if we can't ID the maker, we can provide other information. The "gold colored pins" are possibly cocking indicators, as you surmise. They are not common in this location, but possible. Also possible are loaded chamber indicators. You should be able to determine which, by loading one chamber (outside the house) and observing the pins. If both pins still protrude, unload the one chamber and pull one trigger, holding it while closing the gun(safety off). This test will tell you which function the pins perform.
