hi have just bought a anschutz 410 shotgun. s/n 347966 am having difficuty loading a 2.5 cartridge ,is it just made for 3in. any idea how old regards mike

Mike, I see that you are a new member so welcome. In order for the experts to help you, you will need to post some good clear photos of your gun along with close-ups of any markings that are on it. I am not an expert on these and will leave it to others that are. Thanks, Diz

At one time there was a 2" version of .410 ammo, are you sure your gun is not chambered for that shell? If your gun were chambered for 3" .410, a 2.5" shell would go right in. If you will do as Diz suggested, it would be helpful.

The good news MikeP is that, if it turns out to be a short shell, a spacer kit for a MEC style reloader is neither expensive nor hard to install. If we see the close up markings, chances are they will tell us the shell length. If for any reason they don't, there is also a "Plan-B" for measuring chamber length.
