  • German Over Under 16 gauge over 6.5X52R

I am a new member and I have the above gun. It needs forearm repair and the shotgun hammer will not stay cocked. The rifle bore and the shotgun bore are in excellent condition. I am glad to be a member of this forum. Malvin

Don't know on the forend but the hammer issue is probably an easy fix by applying a stone to the scear nose-bent interface. The situation is quite common on locks that have been shot a lot.

    Kind Regards,

      Malvin,
You didn't say what was wrong with the forearm, if it is "wood work", either you or your local gunsmith should be able to handle it. If he is not able to repair the other problem, I call your attention to the listing of different vendors in the "Waidmannsheil". BTW, in case you hadn't already found out, 6.5x52R is the metric designation for 25-35 Win.

            Malvin,
"Waidmannsheil" is one of the two publications you should recieve as a member of the GGCA. I believe the next issue is being prepared for mailing right now.

Half of the forearm wood is missing. All the iron is there and the forearm still fastens to the barrels. I have fired the rifle and it is very accurate. Thanks, Malvin
