  • Anschuetz Schuetzen

    Hello,
I recently acquired an Anschuetz Scheutzen rifle in 8.15X 46R. Dated1928. Very nice condition. Was complete with original sights. Has a Martini style action.
I’ve been experimenting with some loads and it’s very accurate. It came with some RWS cases.
I am hoping to learn more about these on this web site.
    Fun stuff!
    Mike.

    Welcome! I'm new here too.

But without any pictures -- "it didn't happen" -- so show us your new toy.

And if you post about all the proof marks on the bottom of your barrel, that may gain you some insights from the crew here. I was amazed by what I learned (from those here) just from the proof marks.

Fun rifles and yes, they usually are quite accurate. The best group I ever fired, ever, period, scoped or not was with my Haenel/Aydt Schuetzen rifle. You're fortunate to have received the sights with the rifle. Did you get both sights or just the tang sight? That question is only applicable if your rifle has the rail on the top of the barrel for the barrel sight. I wish there was a match within reasonable driving distance of me.

8.15 brass can usually be easily made from plain ol' 30-30 WCF cases. Fire form and trim. Depending on your rifle it might or might not need some work done to the rim, either in thickness or diameter.
