  • greetings from a new member with questions

I am very excited to find this forum!
I have a few german guns that I need some help with, such as identification, parts, value, age, etc.
A quick rundown of the guns :
    1. K98 Mauser that my father in law picked up at Normandy when he went ashore during WWII.
    2. A Walther Sportmodell V .22 single shot that he also sent home from Europe during his service.
    3. A single shot Anschutz .22 bolt action again brought back by my father in law from WWII.
    4. This is a family heirloom from my fathers side of the family. A german made percussion shotgun approximately 16 bore that my great great grandfather brought from England when he immigrated to the US in the 1850s. Not sure how he ended up with a german shotgun but I would like to see if anyone recognizes the style and can provide any info.
I just wanted to say howdy for now but I will take pictures of each one later and post them in the general discussions..
    Thanks!

    onlyvintage,
Welcome, we are happy to have you with us. We generally specialize in German/Austrian cartridge firing sporting guns, but individuals among us may be able to help with your military Mod98 Mauser and/or percussion shotgun. Both of these will likely not have the proof marks, that we find very helpful as a source of information. We are looking forward to the photos.
